Inter-Domain Internet Research Forum (IDRF)

Objectives

  • Inter-domain research forum is an open communication and informational platform, aimed to collect and systematise knowledge, technologies, tools, activities, standardisations and other available resources concerning the macroscopic and inter-domain Internet.
  • The forum supports the information interchange for the emerging field of inter-domain and macroscopic Internet and tries to encourage and promote inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary researches.
  • The Motivation for the Inter-domain Internet research forum is that the inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary work is the only credible way forward in a rapidly changing Internet, communication technologies and applications.
  • Inter-domain research forum is based on the volunteer work of researchers, engineers and developer from different organisations and institutes, which are interested to exchange inter-disciplinary experiences in the area of the inter-domain and macroscopic Internet.
  • Initiated by the INTERMON project and inspired by the challenges for advanced measurement, simulation and visual data mining, as the Inter-domain research forum develops, further topics will become available as part of the dynamic forum of opportunities that interdisciplinary work offers.
