INTERMON Architecture for Inter-domain QoS Analysis
|
powered
by
Frauenhofer/GMD |
Architecture concept
- Policy based collection (topology, traffic, QoS) per scenarios,
tools and border router interfaces (AS interconnectivity).
- Each AS is represented by a Global Controller which manages the
tnteroperation of tools included in INTERMON toolkit
- Tools included in the INTERMON toolkit: traffic flow meter (IPFIX),
QoS monitor (CM Toolset), topology (BGP-4 analyser), simulation
toolkit, visual data mining toolset(VDM system, QoS pattern analyser,
traffic matric tool)
Distributed data base interfaces and policy based controls
- INTERMON distributed data base for inter-domain QoS analysis
per AS
- Integration of monitoring, measurement, modelling and simulation
scenarios and data
- Data base registration and policy based data collection managed
by Global Controller
INTERMON architecture scenario – ISP’s federation
- Real-world scenario, where several ISPs are federated into a
single Autonomous System.
- The Global Controller is responsible for the monitoring activity
of the whole AS and it provides such services by cooperating with
all of ISP belonging to the AS.
Global large scale data base and services for inter-domain QoS analysis
(shared data base and services of different AS)
- A service involving several ASs based on exchanging of data among
the respective GCs through a well defined INTERMON interface
- Policies for sharing of INTERMON data base resources of different
ASs
